Women’s Mountain Bike Event Day 2026
The Women’s Mountain Bike Event Day is an annual celebration held on the first Saturday of May. The event focuses on empowerment, community, and unity, bringing together women riders of all ages and skill levels for a fun filled day of mountain biking.
This year’s event was held at Prince Edward Park. Originally, participants were set to gather inside the park itself, but after discovering unexpected snow coverage that made parts of the park unusable, Karen Kennedy of GRIT709 quickly adapted the plan. Through fast thinking and problem solving, Karen moved the registration and introductory session to the Prince Edward Park parking lot, helping save the event from cancellation.
Following registration and introductions, participants took part in a skills session that made use of Prince Edward Park’s loops and nearby trails. Riders of all experience levels came together to support one another, learn new techniques, and share personal stories and riding tips throughout the day.
The successful skills session was followed by an après gathering at Broomstick Brewing, a partner of the West Coast Cycling Association and a wonderful host for the final part of the event. There, the participants were able to relax, socialize, and reflect on the day’s activities while enjoying delicious food and drinks.
As the mountain biking community continues to grow, this event has consistently seen increased participation and success over the years. With the sport continuing to expand, the Women’s Mountain Bike Event Day has even more opportunities to grow bigger and better in the future. Don’t miss out next time.
